Redware Pottery by Kulina Folk Art

Gariné (ga-renée) Arakelian, of Kulina Folk Art, creates redware sgraffito and slipware interpretations of historical American and European folk art. Every day objects, patterns and animals also inspire most of her original designs. Furthermore, she collaborates with her husband, master potter Rick Hamelin of Pied Potter Hamelin, on wheel thrown pottery.

Each redware plate and platter is drape molded, slipped, incised and glazed with a lead-free surface, fired and finished with a food safe antiquing surface. Every order is custom-made through hand processes, especially for you, and not mass-produced. No two pieces will look alike and each item will have its own unique characteristics in color and design. All the pottery pieces are signed and dated.
